Changing education climate pushes for 'Blended Learning'
Australia has faced many unprecedented challenges over the past year, resulting in major transformations within the education sector. With the sudden prospect of rapid lockdowns and social distancing policies, the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector has been compelled to adopt a 'blended' style of both online and classroom delivery. Since 2015, enrolments in Foundation Skills (FSK) have increased by over 228%. With a steady 14% increase of enrolments from 2018-2019 alone, the demand for foundation skills remains on the rise (NCVER 2019). Didasko Learning Resources acknowledges the importance of building these crucial skills for employment and seeks to extend that learning in times of uncertainty through our online Learning Management System (LMS).
What Didasko Learning Resources Offers
Didasko's LMS is highly engaging, providing students with an abundance of resources and interactive content. We utilise our award-winning online content to engage with students, helping them understand key learning challenges and to partake in online assessments. Didasko's LMS stores all student data and records in the one place, making grading and reporting much more convenient.
Importance of Foundation Skills Today
Foundation Skills form a critical skillset that leads to improved workplace contribution, productivity, and social interactivity. Individuals with developed literacy, language and numeracy skills have greater opportunities for employment (National Foundational Skills for Adults, 2013). According to a 2018 survey from Australian Industry Group, 99% of employees were impacted by low literacy and numeracy levels in the workplace.
Didasko's FSK resources consist of online content and assessment tools for students to develop these foundational skills to enhance employability skills.
Benefits of FSK
Didasko Learning Resources has partnered with RTO Learning Materials to provide multiple online Foundation Skills (FSK) qualifications to aid students who utilise remote learning for literacy and numeracy skills. The online integration of FSK resources allows for more widespread accessibility for students, especially those impacted by the effects of COVID-19. At Didasko, we look to ensure all students and teachers have access to their resources whenever required, whether it be inside the classroom or from the comfort of their home!
Please note: All Australian high schools will receive a discounted rate on FSK resources!
